Philip Daniels returns to Redskins

One day after dumping ten veterans, the Redskins brought one back.

Defensive end Philip Daniels agreed to terms a new contract to return to the club, Jason Reid of the Washington Post reports.

Daniels turned 37 years old Thursday and will likely return as a rotational backup in Washington’s new 3-4 defense. The Redskins also brought back center Casey Rabach on a three-year, $12.3 million contract.

Rabach took a backhanded shot at Vinny Cerrato after agreeing to his deal.

“Bruce Allen has just been a breath of fresh air for the organization,” Rabach said. “He does things so much differently than we’ve been used to seeing around here.”

Rabach and Daniels were the only truly notable unrestricted free agents Washington had.
