The Ravens have a couple of injured players on their defensive line, so they decided to bring in a healthy body to bolster the unit ahead of this weekend’s visit from the Panthers.

The team announced that they have signed defensive end Lawrence Guy. Guy was dropped by the Chargers earlier this week as San Diego shuffled their roster to get some help at linebacker.

Guy played in all three games for the Chargers this year, but recorded no statistics. He played 12 games for the Chargers and Colts last year and nine more for the Colts in 2012, racking up 38 tackles and a sack.

Defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan and defensive end Chris Canty both missed practice on Wednesday with knee injuries. Jernigan did not play against the Browns last weekend and Canty was hurt during the win.

The Ravens dropped wide receiver Deonte Thompson to make room for Guy. Thompson re-signed with the team this week after begin cut last week so running back Fitzgerald Toussaint could be promoted from the practice squad. The Ravens also announced that Toussaint has rejoined the practice squad.
