Former Rams linebacker David Vobora is heading to Seattle.

Vobora, who was cut by the Rams this month, is a former Mr. Irrelevant who worked his way into becoming a solid player in St. Louis: In three years with the Rams he started 16 games at linebacker and was a solid contributor on special teams when he wasn’t a starter.

Vobora would seem to have a good chance of making the Seahawks’ roster, although the fact that he went more than a week without signing after the Rams cut him raises some eyebrows.

In 2009, Vobora was suspended for four games for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drugs policy, which he blamed on a tainted supplement. In June of this year Vobora won a $5.4 million judgment against the company that made the supplement in question.
