The Browns have announced that veteran lineman Billy Yates has been placed on the reserve/retired list.

Yates, who entered the league eight years ago as an undrafted free agent, appeared in nine games with three starts last season for the Browns.

He spent two years in Cleveland after a five-year stint with the Pats.

Yates has appeared in 41 career games, with 14 starts.
