For most of today’s game in Chicago, the Bears were in control. But all that matters is that the Vikings dominated the final two minutes.
The Vikings got a 40-yard touchdown pass from Teddy Bridgewater to Stefon Diggs to tie the game at 20-20 with 1:49 to play, then forced the Bears to punt, marched down the field and set up a game-winning field goal from Blair Walsh with no time remaining. The final score was Vikings 23, Bears 20.
Minnesota has won three games in a row for the first time in three years, and the Vikings are now 5-2. They’re legitimate NFC playoff contenders.
The Bears fall to 2-5, and after their 37-34 overtime loss to the Lions in their previous game, this is the second straight game in which they’ve had every chance to win, only to lose on a field goal at the end.
The Vikings will take on the Rams next week in a game that will have major implications for the NFC wild card race. Minnesota is playing meaningful football in November, and maybe into December and January.
