Jets signed DE Ronald Blair, formerly of the 49ers.
Blair reunites with former Niners defensive coordinator Robert Saleh in New York. Blair, a fifth-round pick in 2016, spent the 2020 season on the physically unable to perform list after suffering an ACL injury late in the 2019 season. Blair recorded 5.5 sacks and 36 total tackles in 2018. The 49ers reportedly re-signed Blair in April; it appears he did not pass the physical necessary to complete the signing. He’ll be a rotational defensive lineman for Saleh’s Jets.

    49ers re-signed DE Ronald Blair.
That’s pending a physical, which is never a given with the oft-injured lineman. Released in March, Blair has not played since November 2019 because of ACL/knee woes. If the 28-year-old can get back to full health, he will be a nice piece of rotational depth along the 49ers’ front.

    49ers released DE Ronald Blair.
Blair hasn’t played a single down since suffering a torn ACL in November 2019, suffering a season-ending setback last year, too. He’s totaled 1,184 snaps with the Niners since 2016.

49ers DE Ronald Blair (knee, injured reserve) will not play in 2020.
Blair tore his ACL last November and was brought back on a one-year contract in March. He must have suffered a setback. The 27-year-old played 214 snaps before going down in 2019.

    49ers re-signed DE Ronald Blair to a one-year contract.
Recovering from a torn ACL, Blair just resumed running two days ago. A situational pass rusher, 27-year-old Blair notched three sacks in nine games before going down last season. Blair figures to be limited for the start of training camp, but he has a shot to be ready for Week 1.

49ers DE Ronald Blair (knee) has resumed running.
Blair is four months into his ACL rehab. An impending free agent, Blair is unlikely to be back with the 49ers but should resurface when healthy. Blair had three sacks in nine games before going down last year.

49ers placed DE Ronald Blair on injured reserve with a torn right ACL, ending his season.
The situational pass rusher went down in Monday evening’s nightmare of a loss to the Seahawks. The 26-year-old closes the book on 2019 with three sacks on 199 snaps. He was earning high marks from Pro Football Focus. 2019 is the final year of the 2016 fifth-rounder’s contract.

NBS Sports Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco reports there’s concern DL Ronald Blair suffered a torn ACL in Week 10’s loss to Seattle.
Blair will have an MRI on Tuesday. A situational pass rusher, Blair had three sacks over 199 snaps. His loss would be a blow to the 49ers’ defensive line depth.

49ers placed DL Ronald Blair (thumb) on injured reserve.
A versatile defensive end-tackle, Blair suffered a significant thumb injury that will sideline him the first eight games. The 49ers are hoping he can return midseason and give their largely unproven defensive line a boost.

49ers selected Appalachian State DE Ronald Blair with the No. 142 overall pick of the 2016 NFL draft.
Blair (6'2/284) was one of the best defensive linemen in Sun Belt Conference history, spreading 53.5 tackles for loss and 20.5 sacks across 51 starts. He earned Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year in 2015. Blair’s Combine performance was less impressive, running 5.15 with a 30-inch vertical and 9-foot-5 broad jump. Blair’s athletic limitations may prevent him from becoming a dominant NFL edge rusher, but he offers an intriguing blend of power moves, short-area explosion, and versatility. Rotoworld’s Josh Norris has compared Blair to a poor man’s Everson Griffen.
