NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo called Raiders interim offensive coordinator Greg Olson a “name to watch” for the Eagles’ quarterbacks coach position.
Scot Loeffler is currently Philly’s quarterbacks coach, but it’s possible the Eagles let him go, allowing new OC Sean Mannion to pick his replacement. In a similar vein, Olson should be let go by the Raiders once they land Klint Kubiak as their next head coach. Mannion previously played under Olson in Seattle. Per Garafolo’s sources, Mannion would be interested in reuniting with his coach in Philly.
  • PHI Offensive Coordinator
Eagles hired Sean Mannion as their new offensive coordinator.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero believes “a schematic shift coming to Philly,” noting that Mannion played under Rams head coach Sean McVay and Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell before serving as quarterbacks coach for the Packers under head coach Matt LaFleur. All three coaches use play action, shifts and motion far more than the Eagles did under former OC Kevin Patullo. Mannion will reportedly call plays for the offense. Pelissero’s belief is reasonable and bodes positively for a more fantasy-friendly environment in 2026.
  • GB Coaching Staff #15
Eagles interviewed Packers quarterbacks coach Sean Mannion for their offensive coordinator vacancy.
Entering its third week, the Eagles offensive coordinator search is taking on an eau de Browns and they are responding by adding even more candidates to the pool. Mannion, 33, a former NFL backup quarterback, has no play calling experience and has only coached for two seasons.

Packers hired DeMarcus Covington, formerly of the Patriots, as their DL coach.
Covington spent last season as the Patriots’ defensive coordinator but first joined their staff in 2017 as a coaching assistant. He was promoted to their DL coach in 2020 and served in that role until 2023. It was reported earlier that Covington, who interviewed earlier this month for the Bengals’ defensive coordinator vacancy, was not expected to return to the Patriots after they went out and hired Mike Vrabel as head coach. Now, he’ll have a chance to start over in Green Bay. In addition to Covington, the Packers also hired former quarterback Sean Mannion as their quarterbacks coach.
  • SEA Quarterback #15
Seahawks elevated QB Sean Mannion for Week 15 against the Eagles.
The quarterback elevated comes with starter Geno Smith questionable with a groin injury, potentially signaling that Smith is not expected to be available for the team’s game against the Eagles. The Seahawks could still render Mannion inactive to be used as their emergency quarterback, so keep an eye on the inactives list 90 minutes prior to kickoff.
  • PHI Offensive Coordinator
    Vikings released QB Sean Mannion.
When the Vikings traded for Nick Mullens, the writing was on the wall for Mannion and sophomore Kellen Mond. Both were cut Tuesday. Mannion has made three NFL starts since entering the league in 2015 and is 0-3 with a pitiful 5.2 YPA average. He’s not a capable fill-in starter.

  • JAC Quarterback #14
Vikings acquired QB Nick Mullens from the Raiders in exchange for a conditional 2024 seventh-round pick.
Perhaps the Vikings are less than thrilled with the performance of Kirk Cousins’ backups this preseason. Sean Mannion has completed 66% of his attempts for a meager 5.3 yards per attempt. Sophomore Kellen Mond has been erratic in two appearances, completing 55.5% of his throws for two touchdowns and two picks. Mond also wasn’t picked by the new Minnesota regime. Mullens, with a career 64.7% completion rate and 26 touchdown passes over 20 appearances, should be the favorite to open the season as Cousins’ No. 2.

  • PHI Offensive Coordinator
Vikings re-signed QB Sean Mannion to a one-year contract.
A favorite of former Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer, Mannion will play a fourth season as Minnesota’s backup with the team’s new coaching staff. Mannion has completed 60.9 percent of his passes and thrown one touchdown and three interceptions in his six NFL seasons. He could once again be ahead of 2021 third-round pick QB Kellen Mond on the Vikings depth chart.

  • FA Quarterback #8
Asked if he wanted to get rookie QB Kellen Mond playing time in Week 18, Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said “not particularly.”
“I see him every day,” Zimmer said in response to a follow-up question on why he wouldn’t want Mond to get some regular season playing time in the Vikings’ meaningless Week 18 game against the Bears. It was an ice-cold response from a coach who will surely be fired at season’s end after two straight seasons in which his team missed the playoffs. Zimmer’s inglorious run as Minnesota’s head coach was doomed by a forced marriage between him and Kirk Cousins, who missed the team’s critical Week 17 game against the Packers with COVID-19. Zimmer chose Sean Mannion over Mond -- the team’s second-round draft pick -- despite Mannion’s disastrous track record. The Vikings will likely start from scratch in 2022.

  • PHI Offensive Coordinator
Sean Mannion completed 22-of-36 passes for 189 yards and a touchdown in the Vikings’ Week 17 loss to the Packers.
Mannion predictably struggled in his first start since 2019. The Vikings couldn’t get anything going in the first half and Mannion was frequently off-target with his throws. While he was generally pretty safe with the ball – he did not throw an interception – Minnesota struggled mightily to move the ball down the field with the journeyman veteran under center. He did pioneer some longer drives in the second half, but the game was already out of hand by that point. Kirk Cousins should be back for Week 18, and Mannion will return to his rightful spot on the Vikings’ bench if they play their starters.
