The Buccaneers have now fired three coaches since announcing head coach Todd Bowles will remain for 2026. The team parted ways with OC Josh Grizzard and QB coach Thad Lewis before firing McGaughey. Offensive consultant Tom Moore, 87, retired.

ESPN’s Jordan Raanan reports the Buccaneers are hiring former Giants special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey to the same role.

McGaughey spent six seasons with the Giants. He has also been the special teams coordinator for the Jets, 49ers, and Panthers throughout his career. Now, McGaughey fills the special teams coordinator vacancy left by Keith Armstrong’s retirement for the Buccaneers.
