  • ATL Defensive Lineman

Falcons released DL Darrell Shropshire and Tommy Jackson.
Montavious Stanley, who the Falcons signed after being released by Dallas, and rookie Trey Lewis took their roster spots.
  • KC Defensive Lineman
Chiefs waived DE/OLB Darrell Robertson, DT T.J. Jackson, and LS Thomas Gafford.
Robertson followed the Scott Pioli pipeline to Kansas City after being released by the Patriots in March. He lacks to the size to play end and the speed to play linebacker. Jackson played nine games last season but was ill-suited to new 3-4 front. He was also fighting during minicamps.
  • KC Defensive Lineman
The Panthers are expected to sign free agent DT T.J. Jackson on Wednesday.
This is all assuming he passes a physical. Jackson, 25, can play the nose but wouldn’t solve Carolina’s defensive line woes. He has little experience.
  • KC Defensive Lineman
The Panthers didn’t sign free agent DT T.J. Jackson after he failed his physical Wednesday, opting instead for DT George Hypolite.
Hypolite, an undrafted free agent from Colorado, is another penetrating, undersized type tackle. Jackson (6'0/311) would’ve been more desirable.
  • FA Running Back #44
Chiefs signed RB Jackie Battle off their practice squad and waived DL Tommy “T.J” Jackson.
Battle’s addition could mean that Jamaal Charles isn’t as healthy as his “probable” listing on the injury report indicates. Charles was running well late in the week, but initial reports called his injury a high ankle sprain. Jackson was the club’s fourth DT and will likely be back later on.
  • CAR Running Back
Chiefs signed RB Dantrell Savage, G Brian De La Puente, G Edwin Harrison, and DT T.J. Jackson to reserve/future contracts.
Savage may make it as a return man down the road, but he doesn’t have a future as a running back.
  • KC Defensive Lineman
Falcons released DT Tommy Jackson and signed FB Kevin Dudley.
Jackson, an impressive rookie nose tackle who made the team as an undrafted free agent, is a candidate for the practice squad. Dudley is insurance behind starting fullback Justin Griffith.
  • KC Defensive Lineman
Falcons signed DT Tommy Jackson and released LB Brandon Jamison.
Activating Jackson from the practice squad suggests that Atlanta is preparing to be without Pro Bowler Rod Coleman (questionable, toe) in Week 7. Jackson is an undrafted rookie nose-tackle type out of Auburn.
  • WAS Defensive Lineman
Falcons claimed DT Anthony Bryant off waivers from Detroit.
Bryant is huge at 6-3/337. He’ll battle Darrell Shropshire and Tommy Jackson to be part of Atlanta’s interior rotation. This could mean the Falcons have taken themselves out of the running for free agent Ian Scott.
