Saints selected Ohio State S Lorenzo Styles Jr. with the No. 172 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Styles Jr. (6’0"/194) is a traits-driven projection after converting from wide receiver, pairing a near-perfect 9.99 RAS with rare verified speed (4.27s, 100th percentile) and explosiveness that immediately pops in transition reps and recovery situations. Over 334 career coverage snaps, he allowed 31 receptions on 51 targets (60.8 percentile) for 340 yards with a 66.0 coverage grade in 2025, showing incremental growth after a 48.2 mark the year prior. Styles’ 11.0 yards per reception allowed and 67-yard long reception underscore the current gap in route recognition and deep-phase tracking. He does flash improving ball skills underneath, smoother short-area transitions and special teams value, backed by 13 stops and 31 tackles despite a 15.9 percent missed tackle rate. Styles remains an upside bet as a developmental outside corner whose elite athletic ceiling will intrigue teams, but his lack of instincts and route anticipation likely caps his upside.
  • Notre Dame freshman WR Lorenzo Styles caught eight passes for 136 yards and one touchdown in Saturday’s 37-35 Fiesta Bowl loss to Oklahoma State.
Styles (6'1/186) entered this game with just 16 receptions for 208 yards and no touchdowns, but nearly doubled all of those numbers on Saturday. Styles led the Irish in both receptions and receiving yards on the afternoon, and got the scoring started for Notre Dame in this one when he caught a 29-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jack Coan early in the first quarter to put the Irish up 7-0. His 29-yard touchdown wouldn’t be his longest catch of the day however, as Styles would later catch a 33-yard pass in the second quarter on a drive that would result in a missed field goal. Styles came to play in this one, and should have officially put himself on the radar heading into 2022. He finishes the season with 24 receptions for 344 yards and one touchdown.

  • Four-star 2021 WR Lorenzo Styles Jr. announced his commitment to Notre Dame on Sunday, according to 247 Sports’ Tom Loy.
Believe it or not, Styles is only Notre Dame’s sixth-highest rate 2021 commit at the moment. Of course, that speaks to Notre Dame’s recruiting success more than anything. Styles, at 6-foot-1 and 170-pounds, is the 21st-best WR in the 2021 class and hangs just outside the overall top-100, according to 247 Sports. Styles has already been clocked at a 4.47 40-yard dash, which makes him quite the threat to get open and finish plays when paired with his fantastic catch radius. Auburn and Florida, among others, had also offered Styles before he chose Notre Dame.
  • Uncommitted four-star 2021 WR Lorenzo Styles Jr. ticked off Notre Dame, Ohio State and Auburn as three programs which he would like to take gameday visits to in the fall.
Styles (6'1/170) still has a long ways to go in his recruitment, but already he is starting to vibe with a few programs. 247Sports’ Bill Greene writes that the Pickerington, Ohio, native is “at the top of the chart athletically.” He plays an extremely physical game and has corner upside in addition to his natural receiving chops. Given how OSU has been recruiting at wide receiver under HC Ryan Day, as well as the natural in-state appeal of Columbus, the Buckeyes may well be the favorite to come away with Styles’ pledge. On the 247Sports composite board, Styles ranks as the No. 85 overall prospect in the 2021 class.
