Video: Leafs’ Kozun leaves game with left leg injury (Updated)
Brandon Kozun was one of the best underdog stories of the preseason, showing off a display of speed and skill that eventually landed him a spot with the Toronto Maple Leafs out of training camp.
However, on Friday, the 24-year-old forward had to be helped off the ice after taking a hit and falling awkwardly into the boards during the second period against the Detroit Red Wings.
The Leafs announced a short time ago via Twitter that Kozun suffered a lower-body injury and will not return to the game.

Updated: According to Jonas Siegel of TSN Radio 1050, the Leafs think it may be a high ankle sprain and Kozun will have an MRI on Saturday. Siegel also reported that Daniel Winnik left the game with an upper-body injury.
