Oilers sign prospect Greg Chase to entry-level deal


The Edmonton Oilers signed prospect Greg Chase to a three-year entry-level contract on Saturday the club announced.

Chase, 19, was selected in the seventh round of the 2013 NHL Draft (188th overall) by the Oilers.

The 6-foot, 204-pound center had 35 goals and 85 points in his third full season with the Calgary Hitmen in 2013-14.

Chase appeared in five games for the Oklahoma City Barons last season scoring a goal.

The Alberta native had four shots on goal and a minus-1 rating as the Oilers edged the Canucks 4-3, in overtime, Friday night at the Young Stars prospects tournament.
