Despite broken foot, Justyna Kowalczyk wins cross-country 10km gold

It’s one thing to fight through an injury to participate in the 2014 Olympics (or even just participate in the Opening Ceremony), but what about when you win gold?

Poland’s Justyna Kowalczyk won the women’s cross-country 10km classic gold by more than 18 seconds despite dealing with a broken foot. Her final time was 28:17.8.

Sweden’s Charlotte Kalla (silver, 28:36.2) and Norway’s Therese Johaug (bronze, 28:48.1) also made the podium.
