Devin Logan of the U.S. captured one of the first-ever Olympic medals in ski slopestyle yesterday, taking the silver behind gold medal winner Dara Howell of Canada.

The 20-year-old former X Games medalist uses music to help her get pumped before and even during her runs on the course.

“I just get into it, get in the zone and listen to the lyrics before I drop in,” Logan said in a post-event interview on

“It’s usually DMX - “X Gonna Give It To Ya” - and then just a deep breath, and then it’s go time. I kind of forget the music’s going once I drop in, and then it’s smooth sailing from there.”

Considering how intense slopestyle can be, it’s no surprise that one of the most intense rappers out there is on Logan’s playlist (we won’t link out to one of his videos here; this is a family-friendly site, after all).
