Johnny Weir parodied in ‘Saturday Night Live’ cold open (video)

Johnny Weir

Johnny Weir continues to draw attention, one week after the end of the Olympics.

The NBC figure skating analyst and two-time Olympian was parodied on the cold open of “Saturday Night Live.” SNL host Jim Parsons, a “Big Bang Theory” star, played Weir in an interview with Oscars host Ellen DeGeneres, played by Kate McKinnon.

The real-life Weir will appear at the Oscars in addition to DeGeneres. Weir and his figure skating analyst partner Tara Lipinski will provide Oscars red carpet commentary for “Access Hollywood” on Sunday night.

On SNL, the fake Weir said he blended into the local Sochi scene (with photographic proof) and attributed his fashion sense to his parents.

“My mother is a school teacher,” Weir said, “and my father is a Christmas ornament.”

The voice of a fake Lipinski also made a cameo on the opening.

Weir seemed to appreciate comedy.

Here’s the full opening below (Weir’s part starts at 3:20).
