The Dane Rikke Pedersen destroyed Rebecca Soni‘s world record of 2:19.59 from out of nowhere and couldn’t stop screaming after touching the wall. Micah Lawrence was 1.5 seconds slower than her prelim personal best time, but she’s in the medal picture.
