Lindsey Vonn’s announcement this morning that she will not compete in the Sochi Olympics drew an almost instant reaction on social media.
Not entirely surprising was the fact that the athlete who was most vocal on Twitter was figure skater Evan Lysacek, who like Vonn is a 2010 Vancouver gold medalist missing the 2014 Games due to injury.
Vonn’s well-wishers extended into the world of entertainment, where actress Kirstie Alley Tweeted her support.
