Things didn’t work out for Bode Miller and Ted Ligety in the super combined, but they get another shot at medal in the men’s super-G on Sunday. The event kicks off at 1 a.m. ET:

It won’t be easy for either of them, but that doesn’t mean they cannot land on the podium. Miller won the silver in this event in 2010 and is eyeing a record tie-breaking sixth medal for U.S. Alpine skiing. This might not be Ligety’s strongest point, yet he is the reigning world super-G champion, so he’s certainly not totally out of contention, either.

Norway’s Aksel Lund Svindal cannot be ignored for reasons both recent (World Cup successes) and longer term (he won gold in Vancouver). Fellow Norwegian Kjetil Jansrud might have an even better chance this time, though. Beyond Norway, there’s also downhill gold medalist Matthias Mayer (Austria) and Italy’s Christof Innerhofer.
