The U.S. sends Bill Demong and the Fletcher brothers (Bryan and Taylor), but they are not expected to be medal threats on Tuesday. The field is fairly open, anyway, as arguably the favorite Germany’s Eric Franzel has been dealing with an illness. Japan’s Akito Watabe and Norway’s Magnus Krog are among those who may benefit the most if Franzel drops off.
