The post-Apolo Ono era begins for men’s short track speed skating, with J.R. Celski hoping to bolster his own legacy. The 23-year-old wants to ramp up from the two bronze medals he won in Vancouver beginning with the 1,500m on Monday, which kicks off at 4:45 a.m. ET.

For all the hype Celski might generate, short track in general is expected to be dominated by skaters from South Korea and China. Then again, other competitors including Canada’s Charles Hamelin might have something to say about that.
