The winner faces top seed Sweden in the quarterfinals of the men’s tournament while the loser’s already slim medal hopes fade. Slovenia is probably already riding high from its first-ever win and crucial forward Anze Kopitar might not be at 100 percent, so Austria would be a prohibitive favorite. Neither team is expected to be a major threat to Sweden.
WOMEN’S ICE HOCKEY – Classification (7th place)
Germany vs. Japan: 3 a.m. ET – CLICK HERE TO WATCH LIVE
Germany should be able to handle Japan for seventh place, as they haven’t won a game in the tournament.
