NFL Sundays Begin and End on Peacock with Exclusive Coverage Featuring Fantasy Football Pregame with Matthew Berry at 11 a.m. ET and Peacock Sunday Night Football Final Immediately After Each SNF Game

STAMFORD, Conn.Oct. 12, 2022 – The league-leading Philadelphia Eagles (5-0) and Jalen Hurts host Micah Parsons and the rival Dallas Cowboys (4-1) with first place in the NFC East at stake in the Week 6 edition of NBC’s Sunday Night Football. Coverage begins at 7 p.m. ET with Football Night in America, followed by kickoff at 8:20 p.m. ET from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Penn., on NBC, Peacock and Universo.

Sunday marks the 15th meeting between the clubs on SNF – ranking as the most-played matchup in NBC SNF history (since 2006). In addition, this weekend’s matchup marks the first time in 123 regular season Cowboys-Eagles games that one team is 5-0 or better and the other has no more than one loss.

Hurts leads a dynamic offensive attack for Philadelphia that ranks second in the league in total yards per game (419.8) and fifth in scoring per game (27 pts). The dual-threat quarterback is tied for second in the NFL in rushing touchdowns (6), leads the NFC in yards per pass attempt (8.6) and is sixth in the NFL in passing yards (1,359).

The Eagles defeated the Cardinals, 20-17, behind 300 total yards (239 passing, 61 rushing) and two rushing touchdowns from Hurts in Week 5. Hurts now has 19 rushing touchdowns in his first 24 career starts, which marks the most rushing touchdowns all-time by a quarterback in his first 25 starts. Philadelphia is 5-0 for the first time since 2004, when they advanced to Super Bowl XXXIX.

Dallas beat the Rams, 22-10, last Sunday for their fourth consecutive victory. Cooper Rush, who has led the Cowboys to all four wins this season following Dak Prescott’s Week 1 injury, is now 5-0 in his career as a starter. Linebacker Micah Parsons recorded five tackles and two sacks to move into a tie atop the league lead with six. Tony Pollard ran for 86 yards and a score while Ezekiel Elliott added 78 yards on the ground.

Calling Cowboys-Eagles is Mike Tirico (play-by-play); 17-time Emmy Award winner Cris Collinsworth (analyst); and Melissa Stark (sideline reporter). Three-time Super Bowl referee Terry McAulay is the Sunday Night Football rules analyst.

NBC’s coverage of Sunday Night Football is led by executive producer Rob Hyland and director Drew Esocoff. SNF has won a record 11 Sports Emmys for Outstanding Live Sports Series.

This week’s edition of Football Night in America will feature Maria Taylor, former NFL head coach Jason Garrett, two-time Super Bowl champion Rodney Harrison, fantasy sports industry pioneer Matthew Berry, Michael Smith, and co-host Kathryn Tappen at Lincoln Financial Field. Ahmed Fareed will host coverage from NBC Sports’ Studio 1 in Stamford, Conn., alongside Hall of Fame head coach Tony Dungy, former NFL quarterback Chris Simms, and NFL Insider Mike Florio.

Football Night, the most-watched studio show in sports since its debut in 2006, begins every Sunday at 7 p.m. ET. The coordinating producer of FNIA is Matt Casey. FNIA is directed by Kaare Numme.

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING:

Flexible scheduling will be used in Weeks 11-18. Additionally, in Weeks 5-10, flexible scheduling may be used in no more than two weeks. In Weeks 5-17, the schedule lists the games tentatively set for Sunday Night Football on NBC. Only Sunday afternoon games are eligible to be moved to Sunday night, in which case the tentatively scheduled Sunday night game would be moved to an afternoon start time.

For Week 18, two Saturday games and the Sunday night game will be announced no later than six days prior to January 9. The schedule does not list Saturday games or a Sunday night game in Week 18, but games with playoff implications will be moved to those time slots. Flexible scheduling ensures quality matchups in all Sunday time slots in those weeks and gives “surprise” teams a chance to play their way into primetime.
