STAMFORD, Conn. – Aug. 13, 2026 – After a debut season that featured record-setting viewership, technological and production innovations, and instant-classic matchups, the NBA is back on NBC and Peacock for the 2026-27 season with 100 regular-season games across its three marquee nights of the week: Sunday Night Basketball, beginning Jan. 24, 2027; Peacock NBA Monday, beginning Oct. 26; and Coast 2 Coast Tuesday, beginning Oct. 27. This season will feature seven Sunday Night Basketball doubleheaders on NBC and Peacock, further establishing NBC Sports as the premier NBA destination for the biggest matchups on the brightest stage.
As previously announced on Tuesday, NBC Sports’ 2026-27 slate begins in historic fashion with the first-ever American Express NBA Tip-Off tripleheader on Tuesday, Oct. 20, and features a robust collection of national ‘Holiday Hoops’ games in late December, the first-ever quadrupleheader on Presidents’ Day, the second annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day quadrupleheader, 2027 All-Star Weekend, and comprehensive playoff coverage.
All NBA games presented by NBC Sports will stream live on Peacock and all Peacock-exclusive games on Monday nights will also be presented on NBCSN. Telemundo, NBCUniversal’s Spanish-language broadcast network, will present 10 Sunday Night Basketball games as well as the NBA All-Star Game on Feb. 21, 2027.

Additionally, Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics, Cooper Flagg and the Dallas Mavericks, and Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves are scheduled to compete 10 times across NBC Sports platforms.
2026 NBA Finals Rematch
- On Sunday Night Basketball on March 7, NBC Sports presents a 2026 NBA Finals rematch when Finals MVP Jalen Brunson and the Knicks visit defending Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. The Knicks defeated the Spurs, 4-1, in last year’s Finals to win their first championship since 1973.
New Chapters in Historic Rivalries
- On Feb. 7, the first of seven Sunday Night Basketball doubleheaders begins with LeBron James, Jaylen Brown, and the Philadelphia 76ers hosting Brown’s former team, the Boston Celtics with six-time Kia NBA All-Star Jayson Tatum and former 76er Paul George, followed by Brunson, six-time NBA All-Star Karl-Anthony Towns, and the defending champion Knicks visiting two-time reigning Kia NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
- NBC Sports’ first Celtics-76ers game will be presented on Coast 2 Coast Tuesday on Nov. 10 on NBC and Peacock, with Boston visiting Philadelphia.
- In the season premiere of Coast 2 Coast Tuesday on Oct. 27, Brunson and the Knicks host 2026 Kia All-NBA First Team selection Cade Cunningham and last season’s No. 1 Eastern Conference seed Detroit Pistons.
- On Coast 2 Coast Tuesday on Feb. 2, it’s the NBA’s most historic rivalry -- Lakers-Celtics -- as Dončić and the Lakers visit Tatum and the Celtics in a matchup of franchises that have met a record 12 times in the NBA Finals.
Intergenerational Battles
- On the premiere of Sunday Night Basketball on Jan. 24, two two-time NBA MVP point guards face off when Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s Thunder visit Stephen Curry’s Warriors. Gilgeous-Alexander is the reigning two-time NBA MVP and is the first point guard since Curry in 2015-16 to win the award in consecutive seasons.
- On Feb. 28 on Sunday Night Basketball, Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo – who have a combined 26 NBA All-Star appearances, three NBA MVP awards, and three NBA Finals MVP awards – clash when Durant’s Rockets host Antetokounmpo’s Heat at 9:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.
- On Sunday Night Basketball on March 21, two generational superstars in LeBron James and Victor Wembanyama face off when Philadelphia hosts San Antonio on NBC and Peacock.
Perennial All-Stars Take the Stage
- On Coast 2 Coast Tuesday on Nov. 17, two 60+ win teams from 2025-26 face off when Wembanyama and the Spurs host Cunningham and the Pistons on NBC and Peacock.
- Paris Olympic gold medal teammates Anthony Edwards, a four-time NBA All-Star, and two-time NBA champion and 16-time NBA All-Star Kevin Durant square off when Durant’s Rockets host Edwards’ Timberwolves on Coast 2 Coast Tuesday on Jan. 5 on NBC and Peacock.
- Streaming on Peacock NBA Monday on Jan. 11, Brunson and the Knicks face three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokić and the Denver Nuggets at Madison Square Garden.

NBC Sports’ 2026-27 NBA season begins with the first-ever American Express NBA Tip-Off tripleheader on Tuesday, Oct. 20. This will be the first time that a network has ever broadcast three NBA Tip-Off games.
The opening day of NBA action is highlighted by 2026 NBA Finals MVP Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks raising the franchise’s first NBA Championship banner since 1973 before hosting four-time NBA MVP LeBron James, 2024 NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Brown, and the new-look Philadelphia 76ers from Madison Square Garden in New York City. Live coverage begins with NBA Showtime, featuring the banner raising and ring ceremony, at 6:30 p.m. ET, followed by tip-off at 7 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.
Mike Tirico (play-by-play), Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer Reggie Miller (analyst), three-time NBA Sixth Man of the Year Jamal Crawford (analyst), and Zora Stephenson (reporter) will call the game. A half-hour on-site studio show will begin coverage at 6:30 p.m. ET featuring host Maria Taylor and analysts Carmelo Anthony, Vince Carter, and Tracy McGrady.
Knicks-76ers will be bookended by two marquee matchups featuring some of the league’s brightest stars. The day begins with Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics taking on Cade Cunningham and the Detroit Pistons and concludes with reigning two-time NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leading the Oklahoma City Thunder against reigning NBA Defensive Player of the Year Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs in a rematch of last season’s thrilling seven-game Western Conference Finals.
Celtics-Pistons will feature “On the Bench” coverage, with NBC Sports’ Terry Gannon calling the action with Robbie Hummel and Brian Scalabrine as analysts. Hummel will be dedicated to the Pistons and Scalabrine with the Celtics.
NBC Sports’ Noah Eagle (play-by-play), Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer Grant Hill (analyst), and Ashley ShahAhmadi (courtside reporter) will call Thunder-Spurs.

NBC Sports will launch Season 2 of Sunday Night Basketball on NBC and Peacock on Jan. 24, 2027, and continue on Jan. 31 and Feb. 7, pause for NBC Sports’ coverage of NBA All-Star, resume on Feb. 28, and run through April 4. This season’s SNB slate will feature 16 games in total and seven doubleheaders.

Following American Express NBA Tip-Off on Tuesday, Oct. 20, Coast 2 Coast Tuesday begins on Oct. 27 and with doubleheaders on Tuesday nights throughout the regular season on NBC and Peacock.
On most Tuesdays, an 8 p.m. ET game will be presented to NBC stations in the Eastern and Central time zones, and an 8 p.m. PT game to NBC stations in the Pacific and Mountain time zones. Check local listings each week. Both games will stream live nationwide on Peacock. A 30-minute studio program will lead into coverage each week on Peacock.

PEACOCK NBA MONDAY
Peacock NBA Monday, in which games are presented exclusively on Peacock and NBCSN, will stream up to two Monday night games each week throughout the regular season, beginning Oct. 26 and concluding April 5, 2027. A 30-minute studio program will lead into game coverage each Monday night, with all games featuring the critically acclaimed “On the Bench” production format.
Peacock NBA Monday will feature a multitude of notable games this season, including an Eastern Conference Finals rematch when Jalen Brunson and the Knicks visit seven-time NBA All-Star Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers on Dec. 21 at 7 p.m. ET as well as the Toronto Raptors and two-time NBA All-Star Scottie Barnes visiting Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics on Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. ET.

In its first season presenting the NBA in 24 years last season, NBC Sports delivered historic ratings success, with the combined viewership for its coverage of games on NBC/Peacock on Sunday and Tuesday nights (plus five Monday games) averaging a Total Audience Delivery of 2.8 million viewers, up 109% vs. comparable coverage in 2024-25.
