$1.75 million Never Say Die Ladies Turf Sprint (G1) Headlines Coverage which also Features the Keeneland Sales Juvenile Sprint (LS) and The Keeneland September Fillies
STAMFORD, Conn. – Aug. 27, 2026 –NBC Sports presents live coverage of the $1.75 million Never Say Die Ladies Turf Sprint (G1) for fillies and mares going 6 ½ furlongs this Saturday, Aug. 29 at 4 p.m. ET on Peacock from Kentucky Downs in Franklin, Ky.
Kentucky Downs is home to America’s only European-style (all turf) racecourse, and at one mile and five-sixteenths in length, it is one of the longest tracks in the nation. Unlike other racetracks, which are typically oval, the course at Kentucky Downs is kidney-shaped, featuring undulation and a unique right-hand bend.
Saturday’s show will also include the ninth running of the $750,000 Keeneland Sales Juvenile Sprint (LS) on turf and the $250,000 Keeneland September Fillies on turf.
Ag Bullet, two-time winner of the Ladies Turf Sprint (2024 & 2025), attempts to defend her title against 11 other entrants, including Sayidah Dariyan, who is making her first start in North America for trainer Richard Hughes.
In The Keeneland Sales Juvenile Sprint (LS), Vissino enters the race off a second-place finish in the G3 Sanford at Saratoga last month.
NBC Sports’ coverage features host Britney Eurton, analysts Randy Moss and Hall of Fame jockey Jerry Bailey, and Nick Luck reporting from Kentucky Downs.
The 2026 Kentucky Downs meet will feature 20 stakes races with a $25.75 million in total purses. The seven-day racing season opens on Saturday, August 29, and continues on August 30, September 3, September 5–7, and September 9, offering stakes action on every date.
The Kentucky Thoroughbred Development Fund (KTDF) offers $12.5 million of the total purse money at stakes level, which is available for registered Kentucky-breds. Horses bred outside of the Bluegrass State are still eligible for some of the most lucrative stakes in the country, with the stakes worth a cumulative $13.25 million in base purses. In addition to a loaded stakes schedule, maiden special weight purses remain the highest in the nation with $170,000 up for grabs in maiden races throughout the meet.
