The match surpassed Telemundo’s previous record set on June 11, 2026 by the Mexico vs. South Africa (10.1 million TAD) inaugural match in Mexico City, which ranked as the most-watched FIFA World Cup™ opening game in history, regardless of language.
On linear, the Mexico vs. South Korea full program (8:29PM – 11:08PM) is the highest rated telecast in Telemundo network history, delivering 7.2 million total viewers, reaching a peak quarter-hour of 8.6 million viewers.
Mexico vs. South Korea is also the most streamed match in Spanish-language history with an Average Minute Audience (AMA) of 6.1 million viewers.
