STAMFORD, Conn. – June 21, 2026 – NBC Sports concluded its coverage of the 126th U.S. Open from Shinnecock Hills Golf Club on NBC, Peacock, and NBCSN as Wyndham Clark won his second U.S. Open championship. Holding a six-shot lead entering Sunday, Clark carded a 3-over 73 to finish at 4-under par, fending off a hard-charging Sam Burns.
Mike Tirico hosted NBC Sports’ Championship Sunday coverage, with lead play-by-play voice Dan Hicks joined by play-by-play announcers Terry Gannon and Tom Abbott, and analysts Kevin Kisner, Brad Faxon, Notah Begay III, and Gary Koch. I played some ugly golf the last two days, but my putter and short game kind of kept me in it…but honestly, it comes down to just believing that good things are going to happen and that you’re going to make the putt. And you know, fortunately the ones that I needed to make I did.”
Clark on competing against Scottie Scheffler: “Grand Slams only happen a few times. So, he’s going to get it, he’s the best player in the world. But today is my day.”

You always have to go out and earn it, and sometimes when you’re that guy that most are expecting to win it, it adds a different kind of pressure indeed. Wyndham Clark is the 22nd player in major championship history in this position with a six-shot lead or more. Only once has that leader not gone on to win”
Faxon on Clark’s biggest challenge: “Which Wyndham Clark shows up? He’s played very well in the last few tournaments, he didn’t play well yesterday…Scottie will put the pressure on him.”

Notah Begay III: “He let a couple slip through the cracks…missed opportunities…he’s got to go out and make a birdie first before Wyndham makes one. He has to love his position being in that final pairing. If he’s able to get off to a quick start…there’s a shot.”
