The Cavs waived Mamadi Diakite, Sharife Cooper, Nate Hinton, Jamorko Pickett and RJ Nembhard on Saturday.
Diakite was on a camp invite after being released by the Thunder last season.

  • FA Point Guard #5
RJ Nembhard finished Thursday’s win with 14 points, five rebounds, four assists, three steals and a triple.
Up 78-77, Nembhard stepped to the charity stripe and calmly drained both of his foul shots to put Cleveland up 80-77. Nembhard has been one of Cleveland’s summer standouts, and he’s averaged 14.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.0 steals through four games. Despite the strong play, there won’t be many available minutes for him during the regular season.

  • FA Point Guard #5
RJ Nembhard hit 8-of-18 shots for 20 points in Friday’s Summer League win over the Spurs, also adding five boards, five dimes, one steal, two 3-pointers and two turnovers in 28 minutes.
Nembhard played a full season in the G-League and played for the Heat in last year’s Summer League, so it made sense that he looked so comfortable. As it stands, the current Cavs roster has no shortage of guards, and that will still be the case even in the scenario that Collin Sexton is on the move, so don’t get too excited after just one SL game. No. 14 overall pick Ochai Agbaji was solid with 16 points but not a ton else, and Amar Sylla looked good for Cleveland as well with a 19/8/1/1/1 line without missing a shot from anywhere on the floor (7-of-7 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs).

  • FA Point Guard #5
RJ Nembhard signed a two-way contract with the Cavs on Sunday, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Nemhard has been in and out of the Cavs organization over the past two weeks, but they’ll keep him around on a two-way deal. This won’t have much of an impact on fantasy hoops.

  • FA Point Guard #5
The Cavaliers have waived RJ Nembhard.
RJ just received a standard contract about a week ago but has only touched the court for a few minutes for the past month.

  • FA Point Guard #5
RJ Nembhard’s two-way contract was converted to a standard deal, Shams Charania reports.
RJ has only eclipsed single-digit minutes twice this season, so there are no fantasy implications. Moses Brown will take the two-way slot vacated by RJ and is a decent streaming option with Cleveland missing their top two centers.

  • FA Point Guard #5
RJ Nembhard (non-COVID illness) is not on the injury report ahead of Monday’s game against the Magic.
Nembhard rarely plays when healthy, so this will not have an impact on any fantasy basketball league.

  • FA Shooting Guard #16
Cedi Osman played 29 minutes off the bench in Saturday’s win over the Wizards, accounting for 19 points (7-of-13 FGs, 3-of-5 FTs), four rebounds, five assists, one steal, and two 3-pointers.
Osman has been a valuable reserve for the Cavaliers all season long, and he came up especially big Saturday night. His scoring was key due to Kevin Love (4/5/3/1/1) shooting 1-of-10 from the field, with Osman being responsible for 19 of the Cavaliers’ 23 bench points. And he was asked to serve as the primary playmaker during the second half when spot starter Brandon Goodwin needed a rest, taking over those responsibilities from RJ Nembhard (one assist in four minutes). Osman is rostered in just 6% of Yahoo leagues, and that number should increase so long as the Cavs remain without starting point guard Darius Garland (back).
