Coach Mike Pettine said he believes undrafted CB Robert Nelson has a chance to be a starter at some point.
Nelson profiles as a slot corner at 5'9/175. The UDFA attended Cleveland’s rookie minicamp on a tryout basis. The Browns then signed Nelson, and he ended up making the 53-man roster. After spending a few years looking for a complement to Joe Haden, the Browns now have one of the deeper cornerback depth charts in the league. Nelson will likely cover kicks as a rookie.
