Florida freshman CB Shawn Davis did not enroll early due to an academic issue.
Davis had initially been expected to enroll at Florida in January. However, that did not come to pass. The 6-foot, 190-pounder did not meet the initial credit requirement and needed to make up a class. This is unfortunate for the Gators, as Davis was a four-star recruit in the 2017 cycle and ranked as ESPN 300’s No. 256 overall player. He will miss spring practice due to the academic issue, but should be on campus come May.
  • Florida freshman DB Shawn Davis said that he expects the NCAA to clear him as academically eligible soon.
Davis was unable to enroll early with the Gators due to the NCAA not approving one of the math courses he had taken. He indicated that he has taken the necessary course in the interim and is hopeful that he will be cleared for launch in the near future. The 6-foot, 190-pounder ranked as ESPN 300’s No. 256 overall prospect for the 2017 cycle.
