The Cavs reportedly plan to sign Sheldon Mac to a 10-day contract.
Mac’s only NBA experience came back in appeared in 2016-17 when he appeared in 30 games for the Washington Wizards. He has played 40 games with the Canton Charge in the G League this season, averaging 15.5 points.

Sheldon McClellan will sign a partially-guaranteed deal with the Wizards.
The undrafted shooting guard out of Miami posted averages of 16.3 points, 3.2 boards, 1.6 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.6 treys on 50.4 percent shooting from the field and 40.6 percent from deep. McClellan could’ve been a second round pick in the draft, but he reportedly told teams that he didn’t want to be stashed overseas.

Undrafted free agent Sheldon McClellan is a strong candidate to make Washington’s final roster.
“Like every player that comes into this league, he has a lot to learn about what we do and be able to do it consistently,” Scott Brooks said. “But he’s had a good start to his pro career. He’s had a lot of good practices and a couple of good moments, or good games, and he’s played well but it’s a long training camp. He still has to focus on being consistent with his habits, practice and game. But he’s played well.” McClellan is under contract on a two-year, partially guaranteed deal.
  • NBA Shooting Guard #49
Sheldon McClellan started at SG on Wednesday, but he was sent to the bench after halftime and finished with six points, two rebounds and two steals in 20 minutes.
Bradley Beal was out with a hamstring injury, hence the initial start for McClellan. Beal is day-to-day but this was the first game of a back-to-back set, so Washington may have just been playing it safe tonight. They really need him to play on Thursday, as another loss would send them reeling to a 2-9 record to begin the season.
  • Small Forward #15
Marcus Thornton pitched in 10 points and six assists on Wednesday, going 4-of-13 from the field with a pair of 3-pointers in 37 minutes.
Sheldon McClellan initially started in place of Bradley Beal (hamstring), but Thornton was hot early and he overtook him as a starter after halftime. The veteran will have occasional scoring bursts, but his small role and inefficiency doom him as a fantasy option.

Sheldon McClellan will again be in the starting lineup for Wednesday’s game against the 76ers, with Bradley Beal (hamstring) unavailable.
McClellan put up 15 points, two boards, one assist and one 3-pointer through 35 minutes of action against the Bulls on Saturday, and he’ll look to build off that impressive effort with a much more favorable matchup against the 76ers Wednesday night. He’s on the radar as a streamer option or punt play in DFS, and he could be forced into major minutes tonight with John Wall on a minutes limit.
  • LAC Guard #0
Bradley Beal (hamstring) will miss Wednesday’s game against the 76ers.
Beal is getting close, but with this being an away game and the first of a back-to-back set, head coach Scott Brooks will play it safe. Sheldon McClellan will likely draw the start in his absence tonight, with guys like Tomas Satoransky and Kelly Oubre seeing some increased opportunity for minutes, and it’ll be the John Wall show on offense. For now, we’ll be considering Beal questionable for Thursday’s home game against the Knicks.

Sheldon McClellan will start in place of Bradley Beal (hamstring) against the Bulls on Saturday.
He’s played 21 minutes in his entire NBA career, but he’ll start opposite Dwyane Wade. He’s likely just going to be more of a place holder in the first unit because coach Scott Brooks wants to add some second-unit punch with Marcus Thornton. Fantasy owners can take a look at Thornton as a stream or DFS punt.

Scott Brooks said that Sheldon McClellan has a “pro game” and he has a “great chance” of making Washington’s regular-season roster.
Even if McClelland does manage to make a spot for himself on the opening night roster, he still wouldn’t be anything more than an emergency depth kind of guy in Washington.
  • NBA Shooting Guard #49
Sheldon McClellan made his first NBA start against the Bulls on Saturday, scoring 15 points with two rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer in 35 minutes.
He didn’t have it on the defensive end, but McClellan gets a lot of credit here for going up against Dwyane Wade. Bradley Beal (hamstring) is only day-to-day, so McClellan may not be in the rotation on Wednesday.
