NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the Raiders requested to interview Steelers director of pro personnel Sheldon White for their open general manager position.
White has several years of front office experience under his belt, operating as the Steelers’ director of pro personnel for the last three seasons. Before that, he was a scout for the Commanders, executive director of player personnel and recruiting for Michigan State, and rotated several different front office positions for the Lions. White would be a first-time general manager for the Raiders, though he was an interim general manager for the Lions in 2015. The Raiders fired Tom Telesco last week and have several interview requests lined up to fill the role.

Lions named VP of pro personnel Sheldon White interim general manager.
A former player, White is in his 19th season with the Lions’ organization. He appears to be truly an interim hire as the Lions begin their search to replace Martin Mayhew.

Lions will interview interim GM Sheldon White for the permanent job this week.
White will get the courtesy interview after 19 seasons with the organization, but it would be surprising if the Lions stayed in house. Seahawks co-director of player personnel Trent Kirchner and Patriots director of pro scouting Bob Quinn are also scheduled for interviews.

White served as interim general manager after Martin Mayhew was fired midseason. He had been with the organization for 19 seasons. New GM Bob Quinn has cleaned house in the front office since taking over.
