My oh my, how quickly things can change.

Just 12 months ago Yaya Toure was capping one of the best Premier League seasons a midfielder has even enjoyed while leading Manchester City to the league title and League Cup glory. Remember that?

Fast forward a year, and Toure is all but guaranteed to leave Man City this summer after five seasons at the club.

According to Toure’s agent, Dimitri Seluk, the 31-year-old Ivorian midfielder is “90 percent certain” to leave at the end of the current season, with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan lining up to sign the four-time African Football of the Year.

“It’s 90% certain he’ll leave Manchester City this summer. Nothing has been decided – we are waiting until the end of the season,” Seluk said.

Toure made some rather peculiar comments last month, implying he no longer felt wanted at Man City, stating, “no amount of wages will make me stay at a club if I feel that I no longer belong there or if no challenge exists for me.”

Toure’s now-expected departure will only free up the funds — and newspaper inches — to further fuel speculation that City will go after Juventus’ Paul Pogba, who could cost as much as $75 million, this summer.
