Not only did Arsenal lose 2-1 to relegation battlers Swansea City at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday to put a severe dent in their title hopes, but they also lost their star goalkeeper.

Petr Cech, 33, went up for a corner kick in the dying stages of Arsenal’s defeat and appeared to injure his groin as he ran up the field.
The Czech Republic international -- who has been influential for the Gunners since joining from Chelsea in the summer -- will miss Saturday’s trip to White Hart Lane to face local rivals and fellow title contenders Tottenham Hotspur.

Arsene Wenger confirmed the news following Arsenal’s third-straight defeat in all competitions and second loss in four days in the Premier League.
