Question: Do people in the US know how much of a rising star you are at one of the biggest clubs in football?
Pulisic: In the US? Yeah, I know a lot of people follow me and I think I have a bit of support there which is good. It’s just awesome to be a part of that.
It’s always amusing to step back from our mindset as interested American soccer observers, to remind ourselves how much of our country is just starting to embrace the game and that many abroad think we don’t care much at all.
Christian Pulisic is, indeed, a 17-year-old soccer phenom who has broken into the Borussia Dortmund XI for the second time in as many Bundesliga fixtures, adding his first senior goal -- Watch it here -- on Sunday against Hamburg.

ESPN reported that Pulisic is the youngest non-German to score in a Bundesliga match, and manager Thomas Tuchel says it’s a good sign that the Pennsylvanian has now done it in the league.
The once-capped USMNT attacker scored 20 times in 34 appearances for the U.S. U-17 side, and is among a group of young Americans at big clubs in Europe. It will be interesting to see how high Pulisic’s star rises, and how he copes with expectations for club and country.
