England back Phil Jagielka will miss two months with a knee injury suffered in Saturday’s loss to Arsenal, which came on the heels of a 3-0 setback versus Manchester United.

The BBC does the math, and “Jags” could miss up to the nine fixtures if his recovery makes it to Dec. 26.
And Roberto Martinez thought it would be worse:“After the game we expected the worst,” said Martinez.
“It’s probably the least it could be. I wouldn’t expect anything longer than eight to nine weeks and we’ve got an international break in the middle so hopefully he’s not going to miss too much action.”
Jagielka has been credited with 112 defensive actions through 10 games this season, a figure bested only by Norwich’s Seb Bassong and Swansea’s Ashley Williams.
