It went from bright to dim quite quickly at the Camp Nou.

Barcelona was leading Atletico Madrid 1-0 in the 59th minute when Lionel Messi was forced to come out of the game with an injury.

Two minutes later, substitute Angel Correa scored to level things at one.

Messi returned from injury two weeks ago and posted five goals and two assists between a Champions League win over Celtic and a La Liga defeat of Leganes.

Ivan Rakitic scored for Barca, which sits third in the table. The Blaugranas are three points back of Real Madrid, and one ahead of Atleti.

Real Madrid 1-1 Villarreal

The hosts failed to break Barcelona’s record for the most consecutive La Liga victories, with Sergio Ramos at the center of it.

Ramos conceded a penalty that Bruno Soriano converted, but later equalized with a goal of his own. Real was looking to win its 17th straight, but will instead share the mark with Pep Guardiola’s 2010-11 Barca side
