Symwkkuh4MVX
In a highly anticipated match, Liverpool hosted Manchester City as The Citizens looked to keep pace in the Premier League title race.

  • Hart allows three at Anfield
  • Milner scores against ex-club
  • Lallana and Firmino score, too
  • City tied with United on points

Unlike Sunday’s League Cup final, Liverpool beat Manchester City and the match wasn’t even close.

Adam Lallana, James Milner and Roberto Firmino all scored for the Reds, who beat City 3-0 at Anfield on Wednesday to move six points back of the Top Four.

City has a game on hand on fifth place Manchester United, but both clubs have 47 points.

Lallana broke through when Man City gave him plenty of room and time, while neglecting to take away a prime shooting lane. The former Saints man took advantage with a low shot past a diving Joe Hart to make it 1-0.

It may’ve been the first prime chance of the game. If so, Liverpool made it 2-0. James Milner was fed in by Roberto Firmino and lunged to hit a shot past a diving Hart. 2-0 on the low goals to his left.
