Count Ilkay Gundogan amongst those who think Manchester United isn’t doing the right thing when it comes to Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Schweinsteiger has been demoted from United’s set-up under Jose Mourinho.
City has a five-point lead on United in the Premier League table, and took the first Manchester Derby of the Mourinho-Pep Guardiola era. From SkySports:
“I believe that Manchester United could 100 per cent benefit from a fit Bastian Schweinsteiger,” Gundogan told Sport Bild.
“If everything you hear and read is true, you can consider it disrespectful. He’s not just some player, and also not only 18 or 19.”
Schweinsteiger retired from Germany duty, and is certainly on the down side of his legendary career. But could he be doing a job for United?
Mourinho seems hesitant to give a club star like Michael Carrick time in the XI, so status means little to him. Is Gundogan right? Should Schweinsteiger be better than “written off” by United?
