Marcus Rashford isn’t on the team sheet for Manchester United’s Sunday visit to Liverpool.

Many expected that, but United fans will not be pleased to learn their star striker’s status has been downgraded.

NBC’s Arlo White announced that Rashford is set to miss 2-3 months after suffering a second fracture in his back. He had “carrying one” when he was hurt versus Wolves at midweek.

Rashford aggravated an injury against Wolves at midweek in the FA Cup. He made sub appearances in both FA Cup dates with Wolves, but started eight other matches in a 34-day span. He went 90 minutes in five of those outings.

“He got knocks and jolted against Wolves and aggravated his back,” Solskjaer said before the match. “We will give him time before we put him back on the pitch. I wouldn’t expect to be having him in the next few weeks.”

The 22-year-old forward has 19 goals and five assists in 31 matches this season, and would’ve been key to any United hopes of ending Liverpool’s unbeaten season this weekend.

Next up for United are Burnley and Wolves in Premier League play.

United meets either Tranmere Rovers or Watford in the FA Cup next Saturday, and Man City in the League Cup semifinal second leg on Jan. 29.
