Take this report with a pinch of salt, maybe even a handful, but the Daily Star in England is reporting that Manchester United want to bring Gareth Bale to Old Trafford. The Red Devils are apparently ready to spend a record $150 million on the Welsh wizard, as the 25-year-old Real Madrid man almost joined United when he left Tottenham Hotspur last summer. Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels has once again been linked with a move to the Premier League. In the past the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal have been mentioned in reports but now Manchester City are said to be keen to bring the towering German international to the PL. Hummels, 25, is currently the skipper of sinking Dortmund as Jurgen Klopp’s men sit in the Bundesliga relegation zone. Would he fancy a move to Manchester to challenge for titles? According to the Daily Express, the fee to bring in Hummels is rumored to be $70 million.

Arsenal are reportedly in for Napoli’s Slovakian attacker Marek Hamsik, according to the Metro. Hamsik, 27, can play in a variety of roles across midfield and although the Serie A side may be unwilling to depart with the spiky haired wonder, he has been left out of recent staring lineups by Rafael Benitez.

The same report also suggests that the Gunners want to replace out of favor forwards Joel Campbell and Lukas Podolski with Roma’s Mattia Destro. The Italian international striker has found himself in and out of the Roma team and could be available for $23 million in the January transfer window. Scoring goals doesn’t seem to be an issue for Arsenal, as they need to strengthen defensively, but if 23-year-old Destro becomes available then the Gunners could move to snap him up.
