On Friday the U.S. national team were honored with a ticker-tape parade through New York City as Carli Lloyd, Abby Wambach, Hope Solo and Co. traveled down the “Canyon of Heroes” and were cheered on by thousands of fans who lined the streets. It is said that some fans began to arrive for the parade at 3:30 a.m. ET to try and claim a good spot along the parade route.
Below you will find photos and plenty of social media reaction from the celebrations which culminate in the team being honored at City Hall Park where New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio will hand the stars a key to the city.
Incredible scenes in the Big Apple.
