Injury issues have begun to plague La Liga side Real Madrid lately.
Following confirmation that James Rodriguez suffered a broken foot in Real’s 2-1 win over Sevilla on Wednesday, it appears defender Sergio Ramos will also be unavailable for an extended period of time as well.

The 28-year-old wasn’t able to finish the match against Sevilla, gingerly walking off the field in the first half. While at the time many were unaware of the injury severity, the La Liga club erased speculation by confirming that he tore his left hamstring this morning.Sergio Ramos medical report: He has been diagnosed with a torn hamstring in his left leg pic.twitter.com/LgZX3mEhi3

Manager Carlo Ancelotti then stated that his player will likely be sidelined for about five weeks, and went on to reveal the greater picture of Ramos’ absence, believing his possible replacements will do just fine.
“The injury to Ramos is important -- five weeks,” Ancelotti said, per ESPN FC. “But I have confidence in the partnership of [Raphael] Varane and Nacho [Fernandez]. They are very good players, very enthusiastic and motivated to play. They will do well tomorrow, no problems.
“We are limited in this area and it is a problem for us,” he said. “It was the same for us against Sevilla, where they had more powerful players than us and we managed to cope with it. We will use others to get back and help out the smaller players.”
Ramos has made 305 league appearances for Real since he moved from Sevilla in the summer transfer window of 2005.
A side note: Real Madrid defender Marcelo will not play in the upcoming derby vs. Atletico Madrid due to a suspension for picking up his fifth yellow card on the year against the Spittoons.
