Four-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson will lead the Las Vegas Aces on the road against the Toronto Tempo in a Monday night game on Peacock and NBCSN.
The Aces (17-7) are seeking their fourth WNBA title in five years while the Tempo (10-15) is in its inaugural campaign (and led by Marina Mabrey‘s breakout season). Tonight will mark the first game in eight

Las Vegas Aces vs. Toronto Tempo preview:
The defending league champion Aces are two games behind the league-leading Minnesota Lynx in the Western Conference. Over its past four games, Las Vegas is 2-2 — a stretch that includes a franchise-record 48-point home win over Phoenix and a 34-point home loss to Indiana the next night on July 12 (the 82-point turnaround was the largest points differential from one game to the next in WNBA history).
Wilson is the odds-on favorite to win another MVP award, leading the league in scoring (25.5 points per game) and ranking third in rebounds (9.8 per game). She’s also made 20 of 50 3-point attempts, putting her well on pace to surpass her career high for a season (25 last year).
Jackie Young (16.1 ppg) and Chelsea Gray (12.3 ppg) also are double-figure scorers for the Aces. The Las Vegas bench has averaged 27 points over the past three games, including a season-high 46 in the win over the Mercury. Recently signed Justine Pissott had 19 points off the bench in 10 fourth-quarter minutes over the Mercury.
After a 9-9 start to its debut season, the Tempo has lost five of its past six and fallen a few games behind the Washington Mystics for the eighth and final playoff spot. Mabrey, who made her first All-Star team as a reserve, leads the team at 21 points per game. Isaelle Harrison (13.1 ppg) and Nyara Sabally (11.4 ppg) also are double-figure scorers for Toronto.
Offense has been a weakness lately for the Tempo. The team was ranked second in scoring and 3-pointers during the first 18 games but is down 11 points per game since then (scoring 80 or fewer points in four of the past six games, including a season-low 62 points against the Mystics).
Injuries have been major factors as All-Star Brittney Sykes has missed nine consecutive games with a left plantar fascia injury. Rookie guard Kiki Rice (12.7 ppg) has been out since June 3 with a right ankle sprain, and Temi Fágbénlé has been in the league’s concussion protocol since June 27.
