Liverpool have accepted a bid for midfielder Joe Allen, though it remains to be seen whether Swansea City up the ante for its former star.

Allen, 26, has been affectionally dubbed the “Welsh Xavi” and starred at EURO 2016. He’s long been tipped for a return to Swansea, where he played under Brendan Rodgers before joining him at Liverpool in 2012.

The fee then was around $20 million. Four years on, it’s only dropped about three million. Jurgen Klopp has praised the midfielder, though Allen has not yet joined the team and is on his EURO holiday.
