The Hammers have yet to gain a point at home, losing to both Leicester City and Bournemouth, but have remarkably beaten both Arsenal and Liverpool away from home in what has been a topsy-turvy start to the season. As for McClaren’s Magpies, they haven’t won a game yet but have showed signs of improving, especially defensively, in recent outings.

In team news West Ham hand a start to new loan signing Victor Moses out wide, with fellow Deadline Day signings Nikica Jelavic and Michail Antonio on the bench, while Andy Carroll returns to the bench against his hometown team after his long injury layoff. Newcastle bring in Papiss Cisse up front for the suspended Aleksandar Mitrovic in their only change.
