Football Team signed TE Temarrick Hemingway.
This is likely a depth signing for a team hampered by tight end injuries. Logan Thomas is still struggling through a serious hamstring injury and Ricky Seals-Jones could miss some time with a hip injury he sustained in Week 10 against Tampa. John Bates took over as the Football Team’s primary pass catching tight end after Seals-Jones’ departure. He could have some streaming appeal in Week 11 against the Panthers if RSJ is out.

  • Broncos waived TE Temarrick Hemingway.
A sixth-round pick by the Rams back in 2016, Hemingway made five appearances after being promoted from the practice squad late last season. Denver also cut DL Caushaud Lyons, OL Brian Wallace, and DL Jaylen Johnson to make room from some rookie tryouts. The Broncos signed WR Johnathan Howard, OL Nathan Jacobson, and DL Deyon Sizer as well as journeyman DL DeShawn Williams.
  • Broncos promoted TE Temarrick Hemingway from the practice squad.
Hemingway will take Jeff Heuerman’s (ribs, injured reserve) roster spot. A 2016 sixth-round pick of the Rams, Hemingway has not made a regular season appearance since his rookie season.
  • Rams signed No. 177 overall pick TE Temarrick Hemingway to a four-year contract.
Even after letting Jared Cook go this offseason, Hemingway is still buried on the Rams’ tight end depth chart. It’s unlikely the South Carolina State alum will see meaningful snaps as a rookie.
  • Rams TE Temarrick Hemingway fractured his fibula in the team’s third preseason game.
He’s almost certainly headed to I.R. Hemingway hadn’t been making a serious case for much playing time behind Tyler Higbee and Gerald Everett.
  • Rams waived TE Temarrick Hemingway, DB Dominique Hatfield, WR Khadarel Hodge, TE Henry Krieger-Coble, WR Steven Mitchell, DB Steven Parker, QB Luis Perez, LB Ejuan Price, DB Ramon Richards, and RB Larry Rose.
Hemingway was a 2016 sixth-rounder but never was able to find the field.
  • Rams selected South Carolina State TE Temarrick Hemingway with the No. 177 overall pick of the 2016 NFL draft.
Hemingway (6'5/244) was South Carolina State’s second leading receiver as a senior, posting a 38-418-1 line en route to first-team All-MEAC honors. He showed plus athleticism in Indy, running 4.71 with a 9-foot-7 broad jump and impressive 6.88 three-cone time. With long arms (34"), big hands (10"), and NFL-level movement skills, Hemingway was one of Josh Norris’ favorite pre-draft sleepers. Hemingway is still far from ready to play with almost no honed blocking ability or notion of NFL route concepts. He’s a multi-year project. After adding Tyler Higbee in the fourth, the Rams are showing a commitment to upgrading the tight end position.
