Nationals signed OF Tito Polo to a minor league contract.
Polo has yet to reach the majors and has spent the last two years tearing the cover off the ball in the independent Mexican League. The 28-year-old outfielder doesn’t possess a ton of over-the-fence pop or speed, but he’ll get a shot in the upper levels of the rebuilding Nationals’ system next year.

Mariners signed OF Tito Polo to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Polo, 24, hit .245/.313/.337 with one homer and 15 steals over 46 games at Double-A in the White Sox organization last season. He is merely outfield depth.

Pirates OF prospect Tito Polo delivered four hits including a pair of home runs Wednesday in a win for Low-A West Virginia.
All four of hits went for extra bases. It was his first four-hit game since August and Polo’s first game with four RBI since 2014. Polo has hit .500 with 11 RBI during his seven-game hit streak. He’s increased his average from .279 to .318 over that span. Polo now ranks third in the South Atlantic League in stolen bases (17) and fourth in runs scored (36). The 21-year-old obviously has a bright future ahead of him.

Yankees acquired OF Tito Polo and LHP Stephen Tarpley as the players to be named later in the Ivan Nova trade.
Polo, a well-built 22-year-old outfielder from Colombia, has batted .289/.360/.451 with 16 home runs and 37 stolen bases in 109 games this season between Low-A West Virginia and High-A Bradenton. He had 46 steals (but only three homers) in 102 games last year in Low-A ball.

White Sox acquired OF Tito Polo, OF Blake Rutherford, LHP Ian Clarkin, and RHP Tyler Clippard from the Yankees for 3B/1B Todd Frazier, RHP David Robertson, and RHP Tommy Kahnle.
Polo, 22, was batting .298/.358/.446 with five home runs and 25 stolen bases in 72 games this season between High-A Tampa and Double-A Trenton, appearing defensively at all three outfield spots. He will presumably join the Double-A affiliate of the White Sox in Birmingham, Alabama.

Pirates OF prospect Tito Polo contributed three hits and three stolen bases Saturday for Low-A West Virginia.
Saturday marked his fifth three-hit game of the season. 12 of Polanco’s 39 steals this year have come in the last seven games. After batting just .215 in 195 first-half at-bats, Polanco has improved to .305 since the All-Star break with 19 steals on 27 attempts.
