The Packers worked out free agent DT Tony Brown this week.
The Packers were probably just doing due diligence, but it’s notable that Brown has spent the season out of football. Just a couple of years from being one of the league’s better pass-rushing tackles, Brown’s career has been derailed by several knee surgeries. He will likely catch on somewhere this offseason.

The 49ers re-signed defensive lineman Tony Brown to a one-year contract for $305,000.
Brown played in all 16 games for San Francisco last season recording 22 tackles and one sack. He is only a marginal defenisve lineman.

Titans signed DT Tony Brown to a three-year, $5 million contract extension through 2009.
Brown will make $2.09 million in 2007, $1.3 million in 2008, and $1.4 million in 2009. The former undrafted free agent has established himself as a versatile starter capable of playing both inside and out. Tennessee’s defensive line has improved greatly so far this season, and if Brown can sustain his high level of play, this contract will be a steal for the Titans.

Albert Haynesworth (hamstring) was removed from practice early on Wednesday for precautionary reasons, according to coach Jeff Fisher.
A previous report said Haynesworth was a full participant. He “looked good” during the session and his return would be a welcome one against a solid Texans offense. DE Travis LaBoy (concussion) was limited, while DT Tony Brown (knee) sat out.

Titans DT Tony Brown may move to the right side to fill Albert Haynesworth’s old spot on the interior defensive line.
Brown has spent most of his career on the left side, but said he is willing to move over and be next to weak-side defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch. Either way, Vanden Bosch will face a lot more double teaming with Haynesworth out of the picture. We’d shy from considering Brown or KVB in IDP drafts.

Titans DT Tony Brown is ahead of schedule in his return from February shoulder surgery and is on pace to be 100% by training camp.
An underrated and consistent performer, Brown has eight sacks and 104 tackles in the last two seasons. He’s also broken up 10 passes during that span. His numbers may dip with Albert Haynesworth’s double teams gone, however.

Albert Haynesworth and Tony Brown paced the Titans with two sacks apiece against the Jags in Week 1.
The Titans tallied seven sacks and two Cortland Finnegan interceptions in a dominating performance.
