Texans selected Oregon State S Treston Decoud with the No. 169 overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
Decoud (6’2/206) bounced from Chadron State to community college before spending his final two seasons at Oregon State, where he made 21 starts and collected 5.5 tackles for loss with two interceptions. The cousin of ex-Falcons FS Thomas Decoud, Treston earned national notice by holding Cal WR Chad Hansen to 16 yards on four receptions last October. (Hansen had 70 yards or more in all of his other games). Decoud offers Seahawks-cornerback-like size and extremely long arms (33"), but he has a scary concussion history, tested poorly before the draft, and will be a 24-year-old rookie. An efficient tackler, Decoud could be tried at safety.
