Mitchell Trubisky will get the start Sunday night against the Packers.
Nagy told reporters Trubisky is “extremely prepared” to take over at quarterback in the lifeless Chicago offense. Trubisky started the season well enough, with five touchdowns on 432 passing yards in the first couple games. He was then benched in Week 3 against Atlanta and hasn’t thrown a pass since. He’ll replace Nick Foles (hip), who is listed as doubtful, in an unenviable matchup against Green Bay’s stellar secondary. Anyone starting Trubisky in superflex formats should consider the potential for an in-game benching for Tyler Bray. Trubisky under center makes every Chicago receiver unplayable except for Allen Robinson.

Bears QB Nick Foles didn’t sustain a hip fracture Monday night against the Vikings.
Foles was carted off in the waning moments of the game after being slammed to the ground -- an inglorious end to an inglorious night for the Bears QB. The injury apparently wasn’t as serious as it appeared. Foles is expected to avoid injured reserve. Head coach Matt Nagy said the team would evaluate Foles through their Week 11 bye. Tyler Bray, an eighth-year NFL veteran who had thrown one regular season pass in his career entering Monday night against Minnesota, could be in line to start Week 12 if Foles and Mitch Trubisky (shoulder) are inactive. Every Bears player outside Allen Robinson is a borderline fantasy play for the remainder of the season.

  • FA Quarterback #14
Bears declared QB Tyler Bray, DB Sherrick McManis, RB Artavis Pierce, OL Arlington Hambright, DT Daniel McCullers, and WR Riley Ridley inactive for Week 4 against the Colts.
Pierce was just signed after the season-ending torn ACL by Tarik Cohen.

  • FA Quarterback #14
    Bears re-signed QB Tyler Bray.
It only makes sense following the loss of legendary career-backup Chase Daniel. Bray hasn’t thrown a regular season pass since 2017 but is at the very least familiar with coach Matt Nagy’s offense — a trait that was likely favored given the inability to hold physicals and tryouts at this time. Bray will land as Chicago’s third-string option behind Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles, not necessarily in that order.

  • FA Quarterback #14
    Bears released QB Tyler Bray.
Bray was signed last week to be Chase Daniel’s backup with Mitchell Trubisky (shoulder) out. Perhaps this signals Trubisky is nearing a return. Taking Bray’s roster spot is OT-turned-TE Bradley Sowell.
  • FA Quarterback #14
    Bears released QB Tyler Bray.
Bray hasn’t completed a regular season pass since initially joining Matt Nagy’s offense with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 2013. It’s still possible he’s brought back as a practice squad replacement. Chase Daniel will continue to back up Mitchell Trubisky this upcoming season.
  • FA Quarterback #14
Bears re-signed QB Tyler Bray to a one-year contract.
Bray is the Bears’ third-string quarterback. He’s been with coach Matt Nagy in both Kansas City and Chicago but has never completed an NFL pass.
  • FA Quarterback #14
Bears signed QB Tyler Bray from their practice squad.
CB Marcus Cooper was waived in the corresponding roster move. Bray’s promotion is a sign that Mitchell Trubisky (shoulder) won’t be active for Thursday’s matchup against Detroit. Look for Bray to back up Chase Daniel on Thanksgiving.
  • FA Quarterback #14
The Kansas City Star says that undrafted QB Tyler Bray has an “excellent chance” of making the Chiefs’ roster.
Understandably, the Star isn’t taking Ricky Stanzi seriously. Bray has ideal NFL size and arm strength and would have been drafted if not for maturity issues and questions about his work habits. With just Chase Daniel and Stanzi ahead of him, Bray should be able to win a roster spot as a developmental third quarterback.
  • FA Quarterback #14
ESPN AFC West blogger Bill Williamson believes undrafted Chiefs QB Tyler Bray has a “very strong chance” of beating out Ricky Stanzi for No. 3 duties.
Bray has impressed coach Andy Reid in OTAs. “I’ll tell you, he did a nice job. He did a really nice job,” Reid said Thursday. “The fact is that he did a nice job and improved every day. He was a bit like a sponge just taking everything in. I was impressed.” Bray should dispatch Stanzi soon enough.
